Christmas “Česká kavárna”

The Czech Centre Seoul and students from the Department of Bohemian and Slovakian Studies at the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies have closed the autumn semester on the last “Česká kavárna“ event engaging in the upcoming Christmas. The project “Česká kavárna“ is coorganized by the Department of Bohemian and Slovakian Studies at the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and the Czech Centre Seoul from 2013 and its goal is to give the Korean students of Bohemian Studies insight into the Czech culture in an interactive way. The event takes place 4-times a year and the last one is always focused on the Czech Christmas customs. This time the students got acquainted with the celebration of Christmas in the Czech Republic and the Czech Christmas customs through a short presentation. The winners of the Christmas carol singing competition and the quiz show received small presents. Besides that the students had an opportunity to taste traditional Czech Christmas cuisine. At the end they opened exhibitions 1918 and 1968 held on three important anniversaries – 100 years of the foundation of Czechoslovakia, 50 years of the Warsaw Pact Invasion to Czechoslovakia and 30 years since the establishment of the Department of Bohemian and Slovakian Studies at the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.
