‘On Own Feet – Centipede‘ voluntary humanitarian and peace organization and Czech Centres under the auspices of Aleš Opata,the chief of the general staff of the Army of the Czech Republic, and Dominik Duka, the Prague Archbishop, are launching an art competition for children under the title ‘Strange Spring 2020‘. In the Republic of Korea the competition is organized by the Czech Centre Seoul in collaboration with the Gyeongui Line Book Street and bookshop there is books for elementary and secondary school students from 15th to 30th September, 2020. All participants will receive a picture book Czech Winter, which presents the history of winter sports in the Czech Republic, the most significant Czech sportsmen and romantic winter landscapes seen by the eyes of the students from the Illustration Studio at the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art, the University of West Bohemia. Five selected students will be awarded a traditional Czech honey cake Marlenka and their works will be presented on an exhibition being opened this autumn in Pilsen on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the ‘On Own Feet – Centipede‘ organization and next year in the Czech Centres abroad.
